This house is in great proximity to the beach. It was very clean, well kept and bigger than it looks in the pictures. It's also in a great location in terms of getting around. One direction on Emerald Dr. will take you to EI shopping and restaurants, the other direction will take you to the aquarium, Fort Macon and the bridge over to Beaufort and Morehead City. We loved it!

I have stayed at Starbird many times over the years, but with grandchildren. This time, after a several year hiatus, I returned with 3 friends (four old ladies). There were some very good improvements in the landscaping and outside of the house. The house was still pleasant and felt like home.

I love how Starbird feels like home! The open living room, kitchen, and dining area makes it perfect for large families. Also, the beautiful screened-in porch, outdoor shower, and proximity to the ocean were among our favorites!

The very short walk to the beach access pathway was easy even for our four year old. The beach conditions in early to mid June 2019 when we visited were like I remember from previous trips to Emerald Isle. They had just imported sand for dune replenishment and planted new dune vegetation to restore the beaches from Florence. The house itself was comfortable with some games/puzzles/cards to play with if the weather turned sour. The back enclosed patio also came in handy to let clothes dry and store outdoor items you may not want viewable from the road. It was a great house and vacation overall!

We have rented Starbird many times over the course of 15 years. It feels like coming home to me and my grandchildren. While it is small and not the fanciest of houses, it is attractively furnished and we are very comfortable there. The well stocked kitchen allows us to prepare most of our meals there. We are most appreciative of the ease of access to the beach. My grandchildren love the outdoor shower. FYI--we rented a crib when my granddaughter was 9 months old and had a good laugh that it is still in the closet. She is almost 14 yrs old. Have you missed it?
