Bluewater Associates of Emerald Isle, Inc. was founded in 1986 by Sherrell Futral and Woody Warren, and is locally operated with offices strategically located in both Emerald Isle and Atlantic Beach in beautiful Carteret County on the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina. We take pride in being a full-service Real Estate and Vacation Rental company.
Bluewater Vacation Rentals includes our Vacation and Annual Property Management Division along with linens, housekeeping, maintenance, and our pool and spa departments which employ over 100 local professionals, making us one of the largest employers in Carteret County.
Bluewater Real Estate boasts 50+ highly trained, dedicated, and hard-working real estate professionals are a top-producing real estate sales team annually year over year, based on data from the Crystal Coast Multiple Listing Service.
Bluewater History
Bluewater Associates was originally formed as a land development company by five homebuilders. Its first project, appropriately named Bluewater Bay, was an oceanfront community completed in February 1986. This first development was an overnight success, with every one of its 85 lots selling in less than three hours. The marketing skills employed in that endeavor proved extremely successful, so successful that people actually camped five cold February nights outside the door before the actual sale date. Compelled by this success, Bluewater Associates’ owners built a Real Estate office, which remains at its present location at 200 Mangrove Drive in Emerald Isle, North Carolina.
In the summer of 1993, Bluewater Associates launched a property management division that would later become Bluewater Vacation Rentals. With just seven vacation rental home contracts, Bluewater leaped into the vacation rental business. The productivity and exponential growth of this branch has helped Bluewater Vacation Rentals and Real Estate become one of the larger vacation rental companies on the East Coast.
Not forgetting their roots, the former owners merged their construction companies to form Bluewater Builders in 1998.* The company has constructed many of the Blue Pearl Homes that are found in Bluewater’s vacation rental division. Bluewater Builders’ homes are found exclusively in Bluewater Cove and many of the finest subdivisions in the county.
With the increased interest in pools and hot tubs in the coastal communities of North Carolina, we recognized the need for highly trained technicians to provide specialized services for our neighbors throughout the Crystal Coast. In 2005, our company grew further by offering Pool and Spa installation and maintenance with Bluewater Pools and Spas.
