2022 BEACH RUN SERIES
August 2, 2022- 5:15 PM until 8 PM
The Beach run is back! All ages and skill levels are welcome. Race options include 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K. All runs take place on the sand in Atlantic Beach. All Beach Run registration is electronic. Check-in is from 5:15 – 6:15 pm, and the race starts at 6:30 pm.
EMERALD FEST – PAMLICO JOE & CLEAN WATER FLOW
August 4, 2022 – 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM
Emerald Fest returns for another great series in 2022. Join us on Thursdays throughout the summer for free live music at the Western Ocean Regional Access from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on. No alcohol, please. On Thursday, August 4, Pamlico Joe & Clean Water Flow will be performing.
GROWING UP IN BEAUFORT – A TALK BY GEOFFERY ADAIR
August 5, 2022 – 7 PM until 8 PM
A special chat with local and longtime resident Geoffrey Adair. Adair has family ties to Historic Beaufort. He remembers the smell of the famed Menhaden boats and folks swimming in “the cut”. Hear his recollections of what it was like growing up in this historic seaport village before it became Southern Living’s Top Small Town to Visit! Growing up in Beaufort – A Talk by Geoffery Adair is FREE and will be held in the BHA Courthouse.
OLDE BEAUFORT FARMERS’ MARKET
August 6, 2022 – 9 AM until 1 PM
A weekly rain or shine outdoor market is located at 300 Courthouse Square in Beaufort on the courthouse grounds under the giant, old live oak trees. The venue is located in the center of town and is a short walk from downtown Beaufort. Abundant parking is also available around the courthouse area. The market welcomes kids and friendly pets. Most markets also include activities for children and families to enjoy bringing their well-behaved dogs to the market. The Olde Beaufort Farmers Market is usually filled with approximately 47 vendors, a food truck, and live music and boasts something for everyone.
SMALL ARMS FIRING DEMONSTRATION AT FORT MACON
August 7, 2022 – 10:30 AM until 3 PM
Come out to the Fort’s parade ground to learn about one of the small arms (musket, flintlock, or rifle) that a soldier station at Fort Macon would have carried and used. This will include a blank firing demonstration of the weapon. Firing demonstrations are held each Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM.
FULL MOON BEACH YOGA
August 11, 2022 – 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM
Come ground in gratitude, bask in the light of the moon, and move with the water and breath. Full Moon Beach Yoga is $10 per person and takes place on the beach at the Western Regional Access in Emerald Isle.
CARTERET COUNTY SPEEDWAY – DAVEY ALLISON MEMORIAL
August 13, 2022 – 4 PM until 11 PM
It’s a very special night at Carteret County Speedway! The Allison Legacy Series makes their only stop of the year, the Legends race for $3k to win, and an all-new series: The Grand National Super Series! In action: U-CAR, Bomber, Legends, Champ Kart, Jr Mini Cup, Allison Legacy Series, Grand National Super Series.
SUMMER NIGHTS AT MOREHEAD CITY CURB MARKET
August 18, 2022 – 6 PM until 8 PM
Join Morehead City Parks and Recreation Department at the Night Market @ Morehead City Curb Market located at 1311 Evans Street, Morehead City! Check out these exciting events with live music, shopping and fun!
CAPE LOOKOUT NATIONAL SEASHORE STARLIGHT CRUISE & PUBLIC STARGAZING
August 27, 2022 – 8 PM until 10:30 PM
Cape Lookout National Seashore and Crystal Coast Stargazers invite you to experience the exceptional views of an International Dark Sky Park and the treasure of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse at the Cape Lookout National Seashore Starlight Cruise & Public Stargazing event. The cruise will leave the park’s Visitor Center on Harkers Island (1800 Island Road), and cruise to the lighthouse. While you are at the lighthouse, a laser-pointed tour of the night sky will be provided. The Stargazers will have telescopes set up at the Visitor Center for the public to stargaze and will remain until the ferry returns so passengers can also stargaze through the scopes. Cruise is by reservation only; call 252-728-7433. Public stargazing through scopes is free.
WILD HORSES OF THE OUTER BANKS SHOW @ CAROLINA ARTIST GALLERY
August 29, 2022 – 11 AM until 5 PM
Come participate in the fourth show of the year “Wild Horses of the Outer Banks” at the Carolina Artist Gallery in Morehead City.
