The holiday season is upon us, so we hope you are as excited as we are to share all the fun events coming in November as we continue to update our monthly calendar! Veterans Day on the Crystal Coast
Veterans Day is an essential holiday to us here on the Crystal Coast, especially being home to over 8,000 veterans just in Carteret County alone! Did you know many of our local families serve or have served right here on Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Airstation Cherry Point? We are so proud of them! We thank all Veterans and are incredibly grateful for their service to our country.
If you are a veteran or currently serving, please don’t hesitate to ask about a Military Discount, as we have year-round vacation rentals that do participate in giving back to our military!
2023 Carteret County Veterans Day Parade November 4th-
Held by the Veterans Coalition of the Crystal Coast and the over 8,000 veterans who call Carteret County home, this parade in Morehead City will be for all the public, local and visitors alike, to honor our Veterans and experience the largest Veteran’s Day Parade in North Carolina. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM, so grab a spot on the sidewalk, and let’s have a great time and show our support for our amazing Veterans!
The Hike Back Screening November 11th-
The Irreverent Warriors, whose mission is to bring veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health and prevent veteran suicide, is hosting a screening of their documentary The Hike Back. This documentary is the story of the Irreverent Warriors, raw and broken Veterans turning the tide one hike at a time. The event is held in Emerald Isle and is open to the public. It’s beach-themed, and Silkies are encouraged to be worn under clothes for photos! There will be food buffet style, a cash bar, and a group photo opportunity, so come have a good time and support our Veterans! *movie includes material that may be unsuitable for some viewers.
World War II Weekend @ Fort Macon November 11th-12th-
This Veterans Day Weekend, take some time to visit Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach and experience what the fort may have looked like during World War II. A small group of World War II re-enactors will be having uniform talks, weapon demonstrations, and other presentations throughout the weekend to educate and entertain people curious about history!

5th Annual Beaufort Bridge Run 5K & 1+ Mile Dog Strut November 4th-
Join The Beaufort Lions Club for a run/walk event perfect for elite athletes and casual runners alike! The Beaufort Bridge Run takes place in historic Beaufort, NC, and offers breathtaking views of the town, Gallants Channel, and Taylors Creek as you cross the high-rise Gallants Channel Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge.
Be a Star- Walk for Children November 4th-
This all-ages flashlight walk will be held at the Western Ocean Regional Access in Emerald Isle and is an effort to provide as many children with essentials and toys for Christmas. That is why Vocal Survivors of North Carolina is hosting this event, and 100 percent of all proceeds collected before and during the event will be used for children’s care packages. This event will start at 4:30 PM, where participants will gather for face painting, games, donation drop-offs, and a Krispy Kreme fundraiser with hot chocolate. At 5:30 PM, it’s flashlights on, and the mile beach walk begins, concluding with a raffle drawing. * Please wear warm layers; it can get chilly with the ocean breeze!
Turkey Trot for the Trail 2023 November 23rd-
Spend Thanksgiving morning the right way, with family in costume, enjoying a morning walk, run, or strut 5K! The GYM Cape Carteret Aquatic Center hosts the Turkey Trot, a great way to get the family active with family fun. Did I mention you could win a pumpkin pie for the best-dressed flock? There are also more categories to win, but the prizes are all, you guessed it, pumpkin pies! Grab the turkeys, I mean family, and burn some extra calories on Thanksgiving morning. Also, if you are looking for a more leisurely stroll, there is a 1-mile out-and-back course through Star Hill!

Dia de los Muertos Festival 5PM-9PM-
Join Beaufort Picture Show and the businesses of Middle Lane for Beaufort’s first Day of the Dead Festival! This free, family-friendly block party features Mexican food and drinks, plenty of cultural activities, vendors, and a children’s area! Get ready to dress up and salsa the night away to live music and even a free screening of Disney Pixar’s Coco! November 4th
Fish Against Addiction Speckled Trout Tournament 7AM-4PM-
Grab your rods, bait your hooks, and catch some trout for a great cause. Join the family and friends of Tyler Dees, who started this nonprofit organization, to hold a tournament in his name and to honor those who have lost a tough battle with substance abuse and addiction. Hosted by Chasin’ Tails Outdoors, this tournament’s proceeds will go to two local treatment centers, The Miriam and Hope Recovery Homes, to provide shelter, education, and support for people seeking recovery in Carteret County.
Cape Carteret Fall Festival 11AM-6PM-
Head out to the town of Cape Carteret, located just across the bridge from Emerald Isle, for a day full of Live music from Justin Castellano, Hank Barbee Trio, and the I-42 Band. Enjoy food trucks, vendors, a bounce house, a beer tent, and so much more!
Beaufort Wine & Food Annual Oyster Roast 1PM-4PM-
Bring your appetite and get ready to celebrate the oyster! Join Beaufort Wine & Food for oysters prepared in all different ways, like steamed and fried, and of course, there will be local craft beer, wine, and spirits to pair with these delectable shellfish. Each ticket purchased helps give back to local causes!
November 11th
2nd Annual Emerald Isle Car Show 10AM-2PM-
Located at the Western Ocean Regional Access in Emerald Isle this family-friendly event helps raise funds for the Emerald Isle Police Department’s Shop With A Cop initiative this holiday season. So come out, enjoy live music, check out donated raffle items, and see some beautiful cars. Looking to participate and take home a trophy? Sign up early for $35.00 a vehicle and help make this the best car show yet!
Swansboro by Candlelight 5PM-9PM-
Prepare for a magical winter wonderland as Historic Downtown Swansboro hosts their Annual Swansboro by Candlelight. Bundle up and experience the whimsical scenes in shop window displays and live music in the Olde Towne Square, and see all the luminaries that line the streets!

The Great Holiday Laser Show 6:10PM-9:10PM-
Mark your calendars and join Emerald Owl Productions at The Carteret County Speedway for a Christmas and holiday season laser light extravaganza! Get ready for a 45-minute beam show synchronized with traditional holiday music!
Beaufort Christmas Tree Lighting and Singalong 6PM-8PM-
Bring your family and friends to the Beaufort Waterfront for cider, caroling, and cocoa! The Christmas tree will be located in Downtown Beaufort, next to the John Newton Park and the Dockhouse.
November 25th
20th Annual Emerald Isle Christmas Parade 2PM-3PM-
Grab a spot down HWY 58 all through Emerald Isle and enjoy fantastic holiday-themed floats, and make sure to stay to the end to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus!
Bring your family and meet Santa as he arrives by fire truck on the Beaufort Waterfront. Santa will greet children in his workshop at John Newton Park, 400 Front Street, until 3 PM.
2nd Annual Small Business Saturday Holiday Market & Street Fair 11AM- 6PM-
Join Carteret Community College on November 25th and #ShopLocal! Filled with local artists and crafters, food trucks, music, and more. There will be plenty to enjoy and many local businesses to peruse for that perfect holiday gift, as well as a special appearance by Santa!
Small Business Saturday on the Crystal Coast-
The Crystal Coast is home to a plethora of small businesses, from charming boutiques to delicious restaurants, and they all offer unique products and services that you won’t find anywhere else. By shopping on Small Business Saturday, you’ll be helping to boost the local economy and support the hardworking entrepreneurs who make our coastal communities so unique and special. So, mark your calendars and come out to the Crystal Coast on November 25th to celebrate Small Business Saturday and show your love for our small coastal communities.
