Chance Encounter

Beautiful house on the beach. Had everything we needed. Best part was we were able to bring our dog with us. She loves the beach as much as we do. We would definitely return to the Chance Encounter ❤️

We love this house! It has spectacular beach views, the best of any place I've stayed since my first Emerald Isle visit in 1975. It's not only pet friendly, but welcoming to children, with lots of toys for tots and a place below to play in the shade. We loved the variety of books and puzzles when it rained. And we especially appreciated the recently updated bathrooms (one with a large walk-in shower) and the new king bed. This house has had a lot of love put into it, and it shows. We can't wait to come back.

This house has one of the best views on the beach, for sure. The home is turned a little so you can see both up and down the beach from inside the house, which is lovely! Also, it's a great setup for families with kids because of the doors/deck/beach walkway, etc. my kids are all grown up, but I wish I'd known about this place!!!

What is there not to love about Emerald Isle! Been coming here for 25+ years and the first year with my precious grandbaby! Hope to continue this family tradition with her for many many years to come!

This home was decorated with a very beachy carefree feel. It makes you feel happy just looking around the rooms. The layout was nice with the master bedroom on one side and the other bedrooms on the other side. I also liked the layout of the kitchen and living areas.

This was the perfect property for our entire family! A very comfortable home ht on the beach with an excellent view. Close enough to watch the dolphins jumping from the deck. The home had everything we needed and more - plenty of thought went into accomodating everyone, especially the kids and dogs! Looking forward to spending some time on this property again next year.

Gorgeous view of the ocean.....as far as the eye can see in both directions. Chance Encounter is a perfect place to unwind, entertain friends, rest, walk, watch, and let the world pass by for seven glorious days. This is my 6th or 7th year renting this house and it's beginning to feel like my own. It has a soul and I love it!!

Loved the layout of the cozy cottage. All the appliances were working beautifully and the kitchen was extremely well stocked. There is very little countertop but there is plenty of storage in the pantry. The heat works very well and the windows and shutters are high end and give the appearance of being inside a gorgeous fish bowl...excellent views from the kitchen, the dining area and the living room. The 2nd master bedroom is very small but the mattresses in both ocean front and ocean view bedrooms were top notch comfort and super high quality. Would definitely rent it again!

We've rented several homes over the years in the OBX/SOBX and this was our favorite. The little touches that the homeowners made to the house made this feel like a home. The obvious love and care given to the home made it exceptional. Our sincere thanks to the homeowners for sharing their little piece of heaven with the rest of us.
