I am Kristen Furtner, an Atlantic Beach Realtor with Bluewater Real Estate. Helping people buy and sell real estate at the Crystal Coast has been a wonderful experience. I am originally from Hagerstown, Maryland, and relocated to Carteret County in 1999. Once here, I never wanted to leave the ocean.

I always loved being outside, swimming, boating, and collecting shells; I was even known to surf back in the day! I even met my husband trying to learn. We now have three children, 11th, 9th, and 5th grade, who I have been able to homeschool for several years. Meeting other homeschooling families in our area has been extraordinary, even helping some of them with their real estate needs. Not many people can say they take field trips to their local lighthouse! We are blessed to raise our family in such a beautiful and inviting place. You will often find me teaming up with my Mother-in-Law, Kathy Furtner. She is a real estate veteran of 30+ years and has bought and sold many homes with her builder/husband! Our specialty is in Pine Knoll Shores, having lived here for the past 20 years, but I am happy to help anyone in any area of Carteret County with their real estate needs!

I was first involved in real estate in 2004 when my husband, a general contractor, built and sold our first house in Pine Knoll Shores. Over the years, we have built, remodeled, and sold many homes, helping me to understand firsthand how much goes into buying and selling a home. It is so rewarding to see the new owners appreciate our labor of love that goes into each property. Since becoming a licensed real estate broker, it has been gratifying to help buyers find the right “fit” for them and sellers to move on to their next adventure. Being involved in constructing and remodeling homes for so long has given me a unique perspective on real estate.
